The 6 leaks we find on most Shopify product pages

1. Hero photo isn't lifestyle, it's catalog

Stock white-background product shots are a 2015 standard. Conversion-optimised stores in 2026 lead with lifestyle (product in use, on a person, in context). White-background shots stay — but as supporting images 2-5, not the hero.

2. Above-the-fold is missing trust + urgency

Product page hero should pack 5 elements above the fold: lifestyle image, product name, price, primary trust signal (★ rating, reviews count), urgency cue (low stock, fast shipping, or limited offer). Most pages we audit have 2-3 of these.

3. Reviews are buried at the bottom

50%+ of buyers scroll straight to reviews before adding to cart. If reviews are below the variant picker and the long product description, you're forcing every buyer through the slow path. Move review summary (★★★★★ 4.8 from 247 reviews) up, right under the price.

4. Variant picker friction kills conversion

Drop-downs labelled "Size" and "Color" with vague abbreviations ("M", "L"). Buyers bounce because they can't see what M or L means in inches. Replace with visual swatches + size guides inline.

5. Shipping costs surprise the buyer at checkout

Shopify's analytics consistently show abandonment spikes at the shipping step. Solution: declare shipping clearly above the fold ("Free UK shipping over £40 · Pay £4.99 below"). Removes the surprise.

6. Add to Cart and Buy Now are blended into the page

The CTA button needs to be the single most visually dominant element. Same colour as nothing else on the page. Sticky on mobile scroll. Most stores use a CTA that blends with the brand palette — costs them 30-50% conversion.

Why this beats Shopify "conversion expert" gigs on Fiverr / Upwork

The £20-£100 product page audits on Fiverr deliver a 10-point checklist applied to your store. Generic. They don't know your category, your customer, your price point, or your competitive set. Real audits cite specific named conversion principles, quote your exact copy back to you, and ship rewrites that match YOUR brand voice.

The price difference (£47 vs £20-100) reflects the depth difference. Refundable if our X-Ray doesn't find at least 5 specific leaks.

FAQs

Do you work on Shopify Plus or only standard Shopify?

Both. Operator Build covers Liquid template edits, Shopify section builder, and theme.liquid customisation. For Plus stores with Hydrogen/headless setups, we work with developer-ready spec docs.

Can you audit a category page or collection page, not just a product page?

Yes — collection page audits use the same X-Ray (£47) tier. Same depth, different page type.

What categories do you have most experience in?

Beauty/skincare, supplements, apparel, food/drink, home goods, pet products. The audit framework is category-agnostic but examples and benchmarks land harder when we know your vertical.

Do you offer Klaviyo / email setup as part of the rebuild?

Operator Build (£797) includes the abandoned cart sequence + post-purchase email sequence as paste-ready Klaviyo flows. Build of the full email programme is part of Embedded Operator (£1,997/mo).
